Four classes, four little journeys
At Acres of Fun Preschool, we offer four early-year classes, each named for an animal and matched to a stage of your child's growth.
Play Group (Bear)
Our gentlest introduction to school life: sensory exploration, songs, and simple, comforting routines. In Play Group, children are also introduced to early phonics learning and guided reading.
Nursery (Deer)
Hands-on Montessori materials build early number sense and fine motor skills, alongside imaginative play and growing independence.
Kindergarten (Lion)
More structured lessons in literacy, numbers and the wider world, always balanced with plenty of active, hands-on play.
Pre-Primary (Tiger)
Themed learning depending on class interests, building the confidence and readiness children need for a strong start in Year One.

Extracurricular activities
A full, balanced week of movement, music and teamwork, included as part of school life.
Swimming
Every Tuesday. Please pack a swimsuit and towel.
Soccer
Every Friday. Sport kit required.
Ballet
Every Thursday: grace, rhythm and balance.
Piano Lessons
Building musical skills from an early age.
Martial Arts
Discipline, focus and physical confidence.
Structure that still feels playful
Planning follows an "in-the-moment" approach: we build on each child's interests and observations rather than a rigid script. Here's the shape of our school day.
- 8:00 AMArrival, settling in and free-choice morning play.
- MorningCircle time, phonics/literacy or Montessori activities by class.
- MiddayLunch and rest, from our rotating two-week school menu.
- AfternoonOutdoor play, themed activities, and (on scheduled days) swimming, soccer, ballet or piano.
- 12:30 / 3:00 PMHalf-day or full-day pickup, Monday to Friday.
